Abby's been Trixed

One of my absolutely favorite people, Trixie, came "home" to SD this weekend to visit. Abby got to meet her for the first time, and we were treated to some of Mrs. Castillo's fine Filipino cooking! YUMMY!! I love lumpia!! Trixie even had to battle for time with Abby, with her mom. Abigail was an angel during our visit and it was really great to hang out with Trix while she was home.

D. Day of Choice? Fridays and Saturdays tie in my book…Fridays make me feel accomplished – they are my busy, sassy, coffee days, but they go by way too quickly, and Saturdays are just simply relaxing and productive when I can get caught up on the misc.

E. Essential Item? Hair tie, diaper bag (which has a million other essentials), burp cloth, cell phone

F. Favorite color? Blue and green and any variation in between those two – interesting fact – Robbie’s got blue eyes, I have green eyes

H. Hometown? San Diego, CA really…but I was born in San Luis Obispo, moved to Bakersfield, then moved to San Diego…but SD most of my life (MC beats Poway by far Robbie!!)

I. Favorite indulgence? Starbucks…yes, I guess I’m a coffee snob! I love Starbucks coffee, frapps, and the smell! Venti Misto with Nonfat milk – Decaf right now for Ms. Abby.

J. January or July? January…I love the colder weather (if San Diego gets any) and I love the feeling of downloading from the holiday season.

K. Kids? Abigail Grace Morales – 6 mos. – the most beautiful girl I’ve ever been around – mellow, adorable disposition and breathtakingly perfect.

P. Phobias? Spiders, snakes, and earthquakes!! Oh my!! – I was traumatized back when I was a 5th grader in GScout Camp up in Big Bear, during a 7.3 and 6.4; couldn’t talk to my parents for 3 days and couldn’t get home until the streets were clear to go.

W. Worst habit? I procrastinate like nobody’s business!! Don’t be a procrastinator hater!! I ALWAYS get the job done though.

X. X-ray or ultrasound? Ultrasound – even when the little one looks like a lima bean.

Y. Your favorite food? Cookies (Milanos, Oreos, Choc. Chip, Russian Teacakes…), anything my mom makes (except tuna casserole and stew), ice cream, pizza, and sandwiches…ok, and none of them are healthy for you…so what!

Z. Zodiac sign? Ummm…I don’t even know for sure…I think Capricorn?

I love peas, Abby loves carrots

Solid foods are way more interesting then nursing! New tastes, new reactions, new routines, and new diapers. She is having an interesting time with trying new foods. We did rice cereal first and then tried squash. We then decided to try peas and see how she'd take to that and the poor girl got the shakes from the unfamiliar taste. She refuses peas and makes the funniest faces. Then we tried carrots and what a difference! She loves carrots. When she sees the spoon getting closer, she does a little kicking number under her high chair. So cute! But, WOW, what a mess she makes!!

Passing Perfection?!

So Abby is now 6 months old and I can't tell you how many people told me, "Oh, just you wait until 6 months rolls around. Things are ALL going to change." Well...things aren't really all that different. I'm LOVING 6 months. She is sooooo much fun. Sitting up on her own, babbling on and on, reaching for anything and everything, and rolling over more and more! She and I even survived our very first cold bug together. She's perfect, and as each day goes by I keep thinking to myself, how can she just keep passing perfection?! ;)

It's a birthday weekend!

Yesterday was my Aunt Char's birthday and today is Abigail's Uncle Andy's birthday. Uncle Andy's birthday dinner was fun. Andy kept taking her toys away and playing with her head - teasing of course. Abby enjoyed it though when he started playing peek-a-boo with her with a napkin - lots of smiles. Happy Birthday Andy!!

A Red Aunt Hill

Abigail went to her first family reunion and she was quized on all her relatives...haha. But there was one thing for sure, the aunts were marching two by two...hoorah, hoorah. Ok, Aunt Char, that was for you...

...but really, both my Aunt Char and Abigail's Aunt Trisha were together and having fun with her - wearing their red for Grandma Ferris. Aunt Char took her around and showed her off to all our relatives, of whom I wouldn't even be able to pass the quiz. We had cousins like crazy around, all from my mom's dad's side of the family. It was a good time!

Weeble wobble

We have our very own bobble head doll. Abby is doing an amazing job sitting up on her own, but she still has a little wobble going on - so we haven't been able to let her sit all by herself yet. She loves the new view of the world from this new position, and she is enjoying exploring more and more every day!

PS - Has anyone seen Abby's hair?...it's starting to go missing.
