Getting closer...

I can't believe we're getting closer to Abigail's first year birthday. It's literally just around the corner! That's so crazy to me, to think that I'll have a one year old wandering around my house. At that is exactly what she's doing right now. She's mastered going up and down stairs - smart girl that one and I'll have to post sometime her reversing (imagine sound - beep, beep, beep) to go down the steps. She's also a big fan of opening and shutting doors, while mom stands near by cringing that some little fingers might get caught. She also is now with teeth, instead of tooth. She has now broken through in the top row. It looks like a huge tooth too, poor girl. And she has a real love for books, and I'm so thrilled! I love that she'll go straight for her book shelf in her room or if a book is lying on the ground downstairs, she'll pick it up and give it to me to read to her. She's really not interested in the story necessarily, but she loves to flip the pages for me and she points at everything in the book. She's gotten really good at identifying things by pointing at them (such as mommy, daddy, libby, bottle, etc.). I'm such a proud momma!

Happy Birthday Auntie T

Abigail wishes her Aunt Trisha a Happy Birthday! We went to dinner with the family to Benihana's - our first time ever and it was a blast! Abby was fascinated by the hibachi cookers and she loved taking the edamame pods and just playing with them. We had a great time wishing my sister the best for her birthday!

We also had another fun celebration today! We got to see Austin and Crystal! We can't wait for Brandon to get home from Iraq to join them on Tuesday, but in the meantime we enjoyed our time with them. Abby kept eyeing Austin's snacks and finally got one for herself, and Austin wasn't quite sure he was ok with that and it looked like he was going to try and take it back. They had a good time playing together today! Great to have them home in San Diego!!

Robbie did it!!

Congratulations to our Robbie for finishing his term of student-teaching. His job ended today and we decided to take him out to celebrate! A group of us went down to Extraordinary Desserts in Little Italy and we endulged in some decedent desserts and entree's. It was wonderful - friends, food, laughter!

To add to that, we had the fortunate opportunity to use our very first "babysitter" and yes, I survived the night. I've left Abigail with the grandparents, my sister, and other friends of ours who are around our age, but I've never actually had a babysitter where we've had to pay-per-hour. Obviously I was fine with it because we couldn't leave until after Robbie's basketball game, which meant the babysitter came after Abby was already down for bed - not so fun to know that your money is going towards having someone watch your t.v. But luckily we love our babysitter and she is a close family friend and we had no problem spending the money for her and for Abby! Here's some fun from Abby right now...

Some extra time!

I love the holiday season because it always brings some little extra time to really be able to enjoy yourself! We have had so much fun with Abby...she keeps making us smile more and more each day and the laughter is getting louder and louder in our house as she just makes us giggle at every new things she does!

This last week has held a lot of fun times for our little family. I really had a great birthday...woke up to presents and breakfast from my favorite duo and then enjoyed going out to dinner with my family!

For New Year's Eve we were fortunate to be able to visit my really good friend Trixie and her family at their home in PQ and then we thought we were just going to have a quiet evening where we were going to go to bed early and just ring in the New Year in the morning...but we got a call from some of our friends who wanted to hang out and so we had them over for some really great laughs, drinks, and games!

And we had to support our SD Chargers (especially since we recently found out that our neighbor across the street is one!) and so we joined our friends for a football game party! We all were decked out in our Charger gear and Abby helped cheer them on ;) Her boyfriend Isaiah was even there and he was kind enough to share his peas with her....how sweet!
