Kissmiss lies...

Abigail is loving Christmas so far...and I know it's just going to get better! Every time we drive through any neighborhood, she gets delighted with seeing "kissmiss lies, kissmiss lies." She's also enjoyed singing carols with us, and she doesn't go for just any ordinary, easy song...she likes to sing Joy to the World...although, all she gets out is "joy to wuld, joy to wuld....lerd ha come." It's quite cute I have to say.

By the following picture, one would believe that Abby loves Santa Claus (aka: Scotty Johnson from GVC). I'll let you in on our lil' secret: I snapped this real quick as she ran to him, hugged him real fast, and then quickly ran away. She does love Scotty and I think that's the only way we were able to get a couple decent pictures of Ms. Abigail with Mr. Claus.

This year we were also kindly invited to join the Annual Kyle's Double Decker Bus tour of some local neighborhoods who have fun with lights and Christmas cards for the yards. Unfortunately this year Robbie wasn't able to join us due to work, but Abby and I still were able to have fun. Unfortunately, but fortunately, Courtney was without David that night too, so it was just the ladies and our kiddos. Abby and Isaiah had such a great time ooooh-ing and aaaah-ing at all the neat looking displays. This is just a piece of what we saw...

Snickerdoodles, Gingersnaps, Truffles...

It's my favorite time of year! I love Christmas...for so many more reasons than I could share right now! One of the best things about Christmas is baking with my lovely family. We had our Annual Kalla Girls Christmas Cookie Bake (try saying that ten times fast) and as usual, it was a blast.



When Abby was with Aunt Trisha she got a lot of opportunities to "help out" and she didn't want anything to do with toys or books to keep her out of the kitchen; she wanted to be right where all the action was happening!



She heard a lot of laughing going on and smelled a lot of really great smells coming from the oven. My mom asked my sister to help her and then it became quite a scene - can you see my mom?



Since Abby wanted to be in the center of it all, she got to have an apron of her own.



She helped mommy add some ingredients...



Then she even got to do some cookies "on her own." We set up her high chair with flour on it to roll out the dough. She kept putting her hands in the flour and then trying to wipe it off.



After she got some dough I showed her how to roll it out - our pin was too big for her high chair, so we improvised with this cup.



Then we cut out the cookies...



We had such a great time baking our dozens and dozens of cookies. Here's our list of what was made: snickerdoodles, peanut butter cookies, oatmeal cookies, fudge, russian tea cakes, truffles, gingersnaps, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, cut out sugar cookies, and magic bars.

I'm so excited for Abby to be a part of our fun tradition! It's one of the Christmas-time events that I look forward to most every year!
